The Systemic Action Framework + Mutual Ways + Leadership Development.

Collaborating with Walk Together since 2021, Narrative Muse is progressing through the Systemic Action framework.  They have embraced collaborative and distributed leadership through the formation of two strategic coalitions consisting of membership of community members from the community they serve.  The coalitions address aspects of addressing equity by working towards things like community partnerships where there is shared power with those they aim to serve. 

Narrative Muse sought transformative collaboration, cultural responsiveness, and shared leadership. Facing challenges in power-sharing, cultural integration, and internal alignment, they aimed to transition from traditional processes to cohesive, collaborative practices. The focus has included redistributing authority, community engagement, and strategic steps towards their shared vision.

PROCESS

The facilitator [Arama] navigates between the dominant structures, guiding change through the Walk Together philosophy of Mutual Ways and the Systemic Action Framework. Everyone involved has embraced the Learning by Doing approach. They are now integrating different leadership styles, like intercultural facilitation and Mutual Ways in daily practices for sustained transformation.

IMPACT

The outcomes of our collaboration is evident in enhanced group performance, a unified direction, and the embedding of shared practices. Narrative Muse has learned to discern when collective action is necessary, prioritising it, while also recognising the need for a balance with a top-down decisions when necessary. They have worked towards balance, adjusted structures, communication and the way they work and interact with each other.  They are now working towards Embedded Practice.  

IMPACT STATEMENT

Walk Together has been transformational for Narrative Muse. The program is an incredibly helpful roadmap that has guided us through the everyday challenges and opportunities of creating inclusive ways of working in an organisation. Arama is an incredibly skilled facilitator in the Walk Together framework as well as conflict resolution and challenge. Justice, equity, diversity and inclusion work is complex. It requires the input of so many from so many world views and Arama navigates this space with a special adeptness. Walk Together has not only changed our organisation, it’s changed the way our team members engage with each other and the world.
