The Ngahere Approach - Systemic Action Framework + Leadership & Organisational Development

Fair Food aspires to elevate community service, deepen connections, and embrace a holistic approach. With ambitions to integrate Te Ao Māori practices and support Māori leadership, the Board of Trustees and ngā Kaihautū are navigating the pre-readiness phases of the Systemic Action Framework.

Fair Food is aiming to incorporate more culturally responsive practices as part of their commitment to transition to a kaupapa Māori organisation.  They endeavour to embrace the enriching aspects of Te Ao Māori so better serve the community of West Auckland.  This innovative journey aspires to extend their leadership development and community outreach capabilities.

PROCESS

Arama facilitates Fair Food through the Systemic Action Framework's Pre-Readiness phase. Focusing on a cohesive and shared understanding, this involves envisioning the future, identifying strategies, and setting milestones. Bridging Senior Leadership and the Board of Trustees, the facilitator ensures collective commitment and informed progress occurs throughout the journey while working at a pace that keeps everyone informed and involved.

IMPACT

In the ongoing pre-Readiness phase, participants challenge assumptions, have been working with voices collected as part of the process, and are obtaining collective authority step by step. Progress involves collaboration within leadership structures, resulting in increased clarity and commitment. Momentum is building as they implement through the "Learning by Doing" approach.

IMPACT STATEMENT

Arama is an incredibly skilled navigator, helping us identify our next steps and move intentionally towards our goals. She creates space for thoughtful discussion while also providing concrete support to action our vision. Her wisdom has been an asset to our Board and leadership team.
